We're Coming to your house! What can you expect?

Our life at Island Decks & Outdoor Services is to enhance your living space- whether it is a full custom designed deck build, adding a pergola or BBQ shelter, upgrading your railings or repairing your existing deck boards to help create enjoyment in your outdoor living space- we’re called in to make things right and look pretty. This also means, that we need to actually spend some time in your space while we do this.

In an effort to make the whole process easier on you and your family, I thought I would share an outline of what happens once you contact us.

First, let me share why I have implemented a process for working with Island Decks & Outdoor Services. While we are contractors in the industry and have over 25 years experience, I have also had enough contractors in my own personal homes over the years to know there are ways to operate, and ways not to. Some contractors communicate steps clearly along the way, others never speaking unless asked questions or its payment time and the thing to remember is, we at Island Decks are checking our fit to you and your project as much as you are checking our fit to you. Just being honest here!

I love processes as it makes everything run much smoother and saves every ones most valuable commodity, Time. By previously having the privilege of working for many different contractors and personally experiencing many in action, we get to apply the best of what really works well and eliminate what doesn’t to our own processes and the fear of the unknown is one we strive to eliminate completely. Michael has a “You ask, He answers” policy and in the spirit of being fully transparent, I am going to lay out our process below so everyone can be on the same page from the start.

Steps to Hiring Us...

Social Proof

I love it when clients do their due diligence and make sure we are a good fit for you and your outdoor project. Our website is a growing entity offering lots of information on what we do, how we do it and the final results we achieve for our clients. Please check our Google Business page, Facebook Page or Instagram. We also have a YouTube channel coming soon to show exactly the extra steps we take to ensure your project quality and the longevity of enjoyment you will receive from your investment. We also have a TikTok page where we post quick educational reels or just plain old funniness.

It is as important for you to get to know us, as it is for us to get to know you.

Fill out the Contact form

I would really love it for you to send me pictures of your space. I want to see what you see as it helps me understand your vision and allows me to activate inner creative.

I have heard all kinds of “descriptions” from people about their spaces, like, there is a small slope, when in fact, it’s a large hill. Or they’ll say, there isn’t much to do to get the space ready for removing the old deck/ structure. This is why filling out our contact form with as much details as possible and adding pictures really helps in setting the stage for our next step, “The  conversation”.

Schedule a Call with Michael
The "Conversation"

I want to have a phone conversation with you and find out exactly what your expectations are. On the call we’ll have a candid conversation about timelines, schedules and yes, costs. Again, I know what its like to work with some contractors and when talking about price in the beginning, it’s “this amount” and by the end of the project, we have somehow, doubled our investment without knowing it.

This is also a time where we can discuss possible problems that may arise. Are there septic tanks or leach beds? Close proximity to neighbors’ yards? The more information you are able to provide in the contact form and on our call, the more accurate your estimate will be.

Deposit & Contract
The "Commitment"

Once you have accepted an estimate, we schedule a time to meet. Michael can answer any of your last minute questions, sign a service agreement and receive a deposit for your project. This secures your spot in our project line-up and allows us to schedule a date where Island Decks & Outdoor Services can transform your space.

Wrapping Up
Your Project is Complete

When we get to this point, the magic starts to happen. Michael and his crew begin to transform your space. Your Vision + Our Passion = Creative Outdoor Solutions

We follow all these steps so that before Island Decks even starts your project, you, the client and everyone at Island Decks & Outdoor Services are on the same page and everyone knows exactly what is going to happen!
